Take the A38 to Bristol (Junction 16). Turn right at the 2nd roundabout into Southmead (B4506). Across double mini-roundabout. Take the 1st right at the next traffic lights into Doncaster Road. We are 100 yards on the right.

From the M4
Take the M32 to Bristol. Turn right at Junction 1 (A4174 to Filton). Straight across 2nd roundabout into Southmead Road (B4056). Across double mini-roundabout. Take the 1st right at the next traffic lights into Doncaster Road. We are 100 yards on the right.

From Cribbs Causeway
We are only 5 minutes away from Cribbs Causeway Retail Complex (Junction 17 of the M5). Why not drop the wife off and come and visit us?

The Shop & Staff

Bristol Angling Centre first opened in 1982 where the present owner Paul Dicks took over a lease on a small shop.

Since then the business has steadily grown (in to one of Europes largest fishing tackle and equipment shops!). In 1984 Paul bought the shop next door and knocked the two into one giving a sales area of 2000 square feet. In 1985 HTV gave Paul the Young Business Man of the Year Award for his achievements.

Three years later he built a large two storey extension on the back of the shop. In 1987 he opened an upstairs showroom giving a total sales area of 6000 square feet.

All this success has been due to the fact that the Bristol Angling Centre is committed to giving its customers the biggest selection of carp, pike, match and sea fishing tackle and equipment in the country - all at discount prices with excellent service and same day delivery (subject to receiving orders before 2pm).

Angling is a minefield for people new to the sport. Where can I go? What licence do I need? What rod do I need? What fishing - carp, pike, etc. Our staff are experienced anglers and can offer good advice regarding all these questions.

We also run angling classes to help our customers catch more fish throughout the year. We have a number of celebrity anglers, such as John Wilson, who visits the shop to help customers with questions. If you would like more information about any of these events call in the shop or give us a ring.

Bristol Angling Centre stock everything from Licences, Maggots, Rag/lug Worm to Bivvies rods and Reels.There really is no need to go anywhere else.

Great News!
In July 2005, Callum Dicks (son of shop owner Paul) fished for Team England under 21s in Serbia and Montenego and won a gold medal. He was 8th as individual and the team won gold.

The Match/Coarse Team

Under 22's World Champion 2008!!!!

Callum has just got back from Ghent in Belgium where he has won the World Championships and collected his Gold Medal for his individual performance, the team managed to come fourth, so well done to the team and callum on there performances!!!

Callum has been fishing for England and Diawa Dorking from the age of 15. He has a very advanced knowlege of fishing on commercial fisheries and rivers all over the World.

Dave is a very experienced river angler, traveling all over the country Dave has 50 years of  experience.

Dave also runs the Thursday night matchs on the Bristol Docks where there can be big nets of silverfish and Bream caught.
