Conditions were ideal for thursday nights evening match, the water was coloured, a gentle breeze and overcast skies meant everyone was expecting a good evenings fishing. All season the docks has failed to fish to its potential and this evening was no different.

Usually at this time of the year the matches are held at Baltic Wharf, but since the new lock gates have been fitted this stretch has been awful, nobody is catching when they pleasure fish. This evening match was fished at the mud dock stretch, a vote was taken to fish the next 5 weeks at this stretch and try Baltic afterwards, when hopefully things will have got better.

Winner on the night was Pete Sivell with 4lb 10oz, made up of 1 skimmer and some roach, caught on the pole with maggot. second was Andy Curry with 4lb 8oz, a similar catch to the winner. Merv Sivell was third with 4lb 6oz all caught on the pole with maggot.

Dave Clutterbuck was fourth with 3lb 11oz, roach and dace on the pole, Fifth was John Macey with 3lb 8oz of roach and perch and sixth was Rob Garland with 2lb 6oz.
