Thursdays evening match didn't feel very Spring like with strong winds and heavy rain making the fishing very difficult at Baltic Wharf.

Alan Healey made the best of the conditions to catch 2 bream and some skimmers for a winning weight of 9lb 3oz, Alan caught all his fish on a groundbait feeder. Second was Dave Shore with 7lb 3oz which included 1 bream amongst his roach and dace, all caught on the pole at 7m with maggots, the next 4 weights all caught on a 7m pole.

Andy Curry was third with 3lb 9oz all roach and eels, followed by Dave Clutterbuck with 2lb of roach and dace, Dynamite Baits backed Pete Sivell was fifth with 1lb 11oz and John Macey was sixth with 1lb 7oz.

The fishing so far this year has been slow to get going, the deep water takes a long time to warm up, what we need is some more of the sun we had over the bank holiday, the fish will move around more, get spawning out of the way and it will start to fish consistently, until then!
