The annual Docks Xmas match was a sell out, as it always is, and the whole of the docks system was pegged, The anglers were well spread out and it fished ok for the time of the year. The day before the docks was clear and everyone was expecting the liquidised bread feeder to dominate but overnight the docks system coloured up, from the rivers that feed into it, and the groundbait feeder was the way to catch them.

This years match raised £143 for the Bristol Childrens Hospital, a big thank-you to the harbour master for putting out the pontoons and allowing the match to be fished in areas of the docks not normally fished, and everyone else who contributed to make this day a big success.

This years winner was male model, Paul Isaacs, Paul used to work in the shop in his younger days but could never get out of bed in the mornings, he caught 5 bream for 14lb 9oz on a feeder from peg 11 at Bar Med.
Second was shop regular Dave Carroll with 7lb 10oz of bream and skimmers from the Glass Boat peg 5.

Merv Sivell was third with 2 bream for 5lb 13oz, on the pontoon at Welsh Back. Martin Leneghan had 4lb 2oz of skimmers from peg 13 on the police launch. Pete Ellis had 2 skimmers for 4lb 0oz from the police launch. Sixth place went to Andy Curry with a bream of 3lb 14oz, caught at Redcliffe.

Steve Brown caught a 1lb 4oz trout and in true Xmas spirit it was allowed to count, all the winners received a bottle of spirits and there was a good selection of chocolates and biscuits for everyone else, a great day for everyone.
