This weeks match was the best of the year, wet and windy weather made the fish feed, even though the weather made the fishing uncomfortable the bream and skimmers loved it.

Dean Malin made a rare appearance at Baltic Wharf, but went home a lot happier after catching 26lb 8oz of bream on a groundbait feeder and red maggot.

Second on the night was Alan healey with 19lb 10oz, again bream on a feeder. Third was Rupert Garner, ex Browning Hotrods, making his debut down the docks, caught 15lb 10oz of bream and roach on the pole with groundbait and maggots, I bet he fishes a few more now.

Fourth was docks regular, Merv Sivell, with 10lb 8oz of bream and skimmers on the feeder, Pete Ellis was 5th with 8lb 10oz and John Macey was 6th with 7lb 11oz.

Each week the fishing has steadily been getting better, now the fish have finished spawning and the next month should see a lot more roach move into this stretch, August is usually the best month of the year to fish Baltic
