Brhhh, it was bl**dy cold last night, with temperatures down to minus 6 the docks fished surprisingly well. The 14-15ft deep water seems to be less affected by the cold and the skimmers continued to feed.

Top rod last night was the legendary Pete Sivell, first win for a long time, with 12lb 3ozs consisting of 8 skimmers caught with liquidised bread in a feeder and maggot on the hook, second was Martin Leneghan with 12lb 1oz caught in the same way as the winner. Alan Healey was third with 8lbs 9ozs, 6 skimmers on the feeder. Dave Clutterbuck was 4th with 5lbs 9oz of skimmers and dace on the pole using pinkie over liquidised bred, joint fifth was Dave Carroll and Adam Caswell with 2lbs 14oz of skimmers.

The cold clear conditions has brought about a change of tactics for most competitors with liquidised bread being the best feed, far better than the normal traditional groundbaits.
