The central core of the Shimano Technium Mono UK is completely solid – halving the overall stretch of the line from 25% to only 12%. Not only does this allow for extended casts, a fact which will greatly please many UK carp fishing fanatics, but it also increases the capacity for bite detection. This is ideal for anglers who regularly find themselves loosing fish due to delicate biting fish. The solidity of this line also helps it sink down through the water, allowing for great slack line fishing potential.
The second layer of the line ensures that the Shimano Technium Mono UK is supple and able to curve to the contours of the water bed. Virtually memory free, this layer of line prevents coiling or twists on the casts and again makes this line a distance casters friend. The final layer of line is exceptionally thin and serves as the UV protection for the line. All anglers know how damaging UV can be to a line. Not only does it bleach the colour from the line but it also weakens the structure of the line too. This UV protecting layer stops this from happening, as well as giving the line a smooth finish to ensure it can peel off the spool with ease.
