Drennan International started manufacturing back in 1967 when its current managing director started making a small range of balsa floats from his mothers garage in Oxford. At the time Peter was fishing with most of the top anglers in the country, people like Dick Walker, the Taylor Brothers, Peter Stone and Billy Lane who went on to become the first World Champion that England had. It wasn't long before anglers started to recognise the talent that Peter had for manufacturing and he quickly became a tackle expert. His ability to design superior tackle plus his knowledge as a top class angler. He soon began to expand from his one man band business in a small garage. Peter has always stuck to 3 very good principles when designing fishing tackle, it must be good value for money, help people catch fish and be trouble free with very few returns. These principles have stood him good stead and he now manufactures more than 2500 individual products and employs over 350 people which supply more than 2000 tackle shops spread all over Europe, including countries such as France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Holland and many more. Peter could spread his wings a lot further but he sticks to a very good principle in that he will not take on any more accounts if he does not have the capacity to supply the new shops. Oxford still remains the centre of his operations, where all the research and tackle development takes place. Drennan has 6 purpose built factories in Mauritius where he is able to manufacture and distribute his tackle at an economical price, these factories are able to compete with the cheap chinese products that are available on the market but his superior design and build quality make the Drennan brand stand head and shoulders above the competition. Drennan have always been big on engineering and use computer aided design (CAD) to design his products and tooling, also designing his own special purpose production machinery that can manufacture the tackle and the packaging. The company employs expert anglers in all their key positions.
