Seat Boxes

Seat Boxes

If your a keen Match angler then a Seat Box is an essential item, as it allows you to combine the comfort of a bankside chair with storage for all your important tackle and accessories so you can access them quickly without having to move. This saves you massive amounts of time during Matches and also ensures you never leave vital tackle at home. Seat Boxes are essential when Pole fishing as they allow you to easily ship the pole back and forwards across the roller.

Most Seatboxes come with multiple compartments which allow you to store items such as pre tied hooklengths and pole rigs for quick an easy access during your session. You'll find that the higher end Seatboxes have multiple compartments in different area's allowing you store a greater amount of gear in a more organised fashion, so if your thinking of buying one its always worth having a look about to see the relevant packages on offer at the price range you are looking at.When you invest in a Seatbox its worth looking a a few key factors to help make up your mind, some of which we have explained below.

Legs

There are two things to consider about the legs on your seatbox, with the first being the height. Most seatboxes we sell feature adjustable legs which are essential for ensuring maximum comfort on all terrain. The ground is not always flat when we are fishing, particularly on more natural venues, so having a seatbox with adjustable legs is essential. the second thing to think about is the diameter of the legs as this not only determines how stable they are, but also the accessories you can attach to them. Most companies produce a wide range of accessories designed to be compatible with their seatboxes, obviously different sized legs different sized attachments so its always worth checking this.

Compartments

Most seat boxes feature a modular design which allows you to add or remove compartments, meaning you can alter your storage system to make it as organised as possible. Different seat boxes come with different sized drawer units, with most manufacturers also selling a range of separate drawer units to allow you to customise your box. These are not universal, so always check the compatibility of any additional drawer units you purchase to ensure they can be used with your box.

Weight

Although it may sound irrelevant as your seatbox is for sitting on, the weight of your box determines how easy it will be for you to get it from your car to the swim, which can be especially useful when fishing natural venues where long walks are often needed to get to the peg you have drawn. Even when using a trolley designed to carry your fishing gear, it is a simple case of the lighter your box is, the easier transport is going to be. Generally, the better the quality of the materials used, the lighter the seat box will be, however many brands offer lots of additional accessories so its essential to find one with the perfect balance between weight and functionality.

Comfortability

Apart from having legs which allow you to adjust your seat box to the correct height, the seat itself needs to be comfortable in order to provide you with the best days fishing possible, allowing you to focus on bagging up rather than adjusting your position. Most seats you’ll find on our seat boxes are made using a foam padding with a waterproof outer layer, with the quality being replicated in the price.
