This was the first week the match was moved from Baltic Wharf to the basin by the General Hospital, baltic wharf is still fishing OK, but any time soon the fishing will get harder, this area of the docks is exposed to cold winter winds and the fish move off to more sheltered area of the docks.
Dave Clutterbuck showed his skill at catching roach from an end peg to weigh 13lb 0ozs, all redfins caught on caster or maggot over hemp. Andy Curry came second, with another double figure catch of roach, 10lb 10ozs, he used groundbait for his net. Third was Pete Sivell with 9lb 2ozs of roach, again caster over hemp, from peg 9. Fourth was Merv Sivell with 8lb 4ozs of roach, 5th was Pete, I only want to catch bream, Ellis with 7lb 13ozs from peg 11. Dave Shore came 6th with 7lbs 2ozs, everybodys catch consisted of roach, at the moment there aren't many bream in the basin, but that will probably change as more bait goes in, if you want to catch bream, baltic wharf is the place to go, fish early or late if the water is clear.
