The New year started with a bang for the Bristol docks regulars, the Xmas match was good, but it fished even better for the new years day 'bash'. The match was fished at the Police Launch and Redcliffe Wharf, the water was a perfect colour after the recent period without any rain. Top rod again, was Pete Sivell, who caught an impressive 43lb 1oz of bream and skimmers on the liquidised bread feeder with flake on the hook, Pete was drawn at the Police Launch, this is his second victory in a row after winning the Docks Xmas match the week before. Second on the day was Whiteacres caravan owner Ian Hudson, Ian was having a break from the commercials and caught 34lb 1oz, he was drawn next peg to Pete by the Police Launch, all Ians fish were caught on a ground bait feeder with maggot, his best bream was 6lb 3oz.

Third in the match was Derek Coles with 28lb 11oz, Derek was drawn at Redcliffe Wharf and caught all his fish on a ground bait feeder with maggot. Ray Cooper was fourth with 18lb 10oz and Rob Garland had 18lb 3oz for fifth, Dave Shore caught 13lb 8oz for sixth place. All these anglers were pegged at Redcliffe Wharf and caught their fish on a ground bait feeder with maggot hook bait.

This is probably the best match that has ever been fished on the docks, with all areas producing plenty of fish, spaces are available if you wish to fish the Thursday evening match, just ring Dave Clutterbuck at the shop, 0117 9508723.
